Barkfest at Bonhams a Barking Success!

The annual barkfest, a brunch for people and their dogs, was held at the Bonham International Auction house in New York City on Sunday morning and it was most definitely a barking success.

Admission wasn’t ‘cheap’ ($50 booking by phone, and $60 at the door), but it was completely worth it. Not only for the amazing art filling the space, but for the complimentary champagne, delicious brunch snacks, and of course, snacks for the dogs who came along to be adored (and fed).

But what also made the admission way more than worth is is the fact that all proceeds went to the AKC Humane fund for dogs. And anything that helps out our animal friends is very worthwhile indeed.

The place hummed with people and dogs and gushings about the art on display.

Both Bonhams and the American Kennel Club can be more than proud of this fantastic event.

We’ll see you there next year, and don’t forget to check in on the auction tomorrow at 10am at Bonhams.

Annual Dog Art Auction @ Bonhams Tomorrow

Tomorrow morning, at 10 am, Bonhams (founded 1793), one of the world’s three largest international auction house is having its annual dog art auction.

If you’re a dog lover, go online to peruse the many beautiful and amazing pieces they have on offer.  They have everything from statues, antique collars (including one that belonged to Charles Dickens…yes, the Charles Dickens of A Christmas Carol fame!), art work to a quirky Scottie dog heater!

On Valentines day Bonhams even had a charity brunch, the Barkfest, to raise money for the AKCs Humane  Fund and to  give a sneak peak at all the fantastic art and  pieces just waiting for a new home!

Check out Bonhams now!

Barkfest at Bonhams…A NYC Valentines…

If you’re out and about in NYC this Valentines day with your dog, take him along to the American Kennel Club’s annual charity brunch, the “barkfest at Bonhams“.

All proceeds go to the AKC’s humane fund, which is a great thing, indeed.

Not only can you and your dog chow down, but you get to sip champagne while perusing fantastic dog art and artefacts on display  at Bonhams (to be sold on the following Tuesday!), including a dog collar that used to belong to the writer Charles Dickens!

It’s $50 to attend if you book by phone, or $60 at the door.

And considering all proceeds go to the AKCs humane fund, we say take your dog on a special valentine’s day excursion. It’s going to be fun, it’s going to be fabulous and it’s all for a good cause.

We’ll see you there.
