Royal Pet Club always loves a good cause…and doing something fun and different with your dog.
Last week we mentioned Doga – yoga for you and your dog. Yes, it’s an adorable and catchy name and it’s also a fabulous thing to do, especially in this stressed, fast paced world we live in. A little time to ourselves (with our always faithful companion at our sides) while getting into shape, body and mind, is always a good thing.
You may be asking yourself where does the good cause part come into it? Well, doga is haute, doga is the thing that everyone who is anyone (and even those who aren’t) are doing, and…if you’re in NYC on December 6th, head to Animal Haven to get your Doga on, and to help raise money and awareness forĀ cocker spaniels who’ve been abandoned.

And doga away, it’s the best thing since the apple, they say.

Yep, yoga for dogs is the new craze sweeping the nation. And it actually makes sense. Look at the way a dog (and indeed cats) stretch, it becomes obvious they were born for yoga (cats would be born for yoga if you could actually get one to do what you wanted them to do, when you want them to do it..).
It’s a great way to for you and your dog to get fit, both mind and body, and a fantastic way to bond with your pooch and spend more time together.
So how does doga work? Basically you, the dog owner, stretch your dog into the positions while utilising massage and meditation. You also get your own yoga (doga) positions by using your dog as your prop for the different positions.
If you want to check out doga, you’re in luck. Doga classes are popping up all over, and if you happen to live somewhere doga classes are yet to appear you can buy doga class DVDs.
Excellent stuff. Check out doga today!
