Hero Dog Saves Boy!

dog-saves-boy

Angel, an 18 month old Golden Retriever, is very much the hero to his 11 year old master, and to the whole family.

When Austin Forman, of British Columbia, Canada, was outside in his backyard collecting firewood at 5.30pm last Saturday, he noticed his dog wasn’t playing happily as normal. Instead Angel was sticking close to him.

It soon became obvious why Angel was behaving strangely when a cougar (not the older lady kind!) came charging out of the woods behind the house, straight for Austin.

Angel leapt into action and went for the cougar, throwing herself at him to save her master.

Austin ran inside to his mother. The distraught boy was finally able to say, “There’s a cougar eating angel.”

His mother called 911. Luckily a passing constable was in the area and ran to their place, where he was able to shoot the cougar dead.

At first, it looked like Angel had been killed by the cougar but showing the courage and determination dogs have, she got to her feet and went to Austin, to make sure he was all rigiht.

Angel suffered some deep bites and scratches but it is believed she’s going to be okay.

The boy and his grandfather went to town later to buy Angel a big steak as her reward.

We say, she deserved it.
